DETAILS Marquetry is a painstaking, delicate art, which transforms slender pieces of wood into elegant embroidery, and it's used to decorate a wide variety of objects. At first it was closely tied to wood engraving. Later on, these engravings began to take on a more realistic approach, as craftsmen began to represent landscapes, which enriched the pieces' artistic appeal.
